A Group Of Naval Officers And Marine Officers Working Together On A Ship. The Pressure Cooker: Forging Naval Officers Through Marine Leadership The Navy and Marine Corps share a common commitment to leadership development. Both institutions believe that leaders are made, not born, and they invest heavily in training and educating their officers to prepare them for the challenges of leadership. One of the most important ways that the Navy and Marine Corps develop leaders is through a shared program called Marine Leadership Training (MLT). For more than 50 years, MLT has been the cornerstone of leadership development for both naval officers and marine officers.
