Early Life and Family

Princess Alexandra Helen Elizabeth Olga Christabel was born on 25 December 1936, at the King's Cross Nursing Home in London. She is the only daughter of Prince George, Duke of Kent, and Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark. Her father was the fourth son of King George V and Queen Mary, and her mother was the daughter of Prince Nicholas of Greece and Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna of Russia.

Princess Alexandra has one brother, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, who was born in 1935. She also has a number of cousins, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon.

Education and Career

Princess Alexandra was educated at Heathfield School in Ascot, Berkshire. After she completed her schooling, she worked as a secretary for a brief period before embarking on her public service career.

Princess Alexandra has been involved in a wide range of charitable and public service activities throughout her life. She is a patron of over 100 organizations, including the British Red Cross, the Royal National Institute of Blind People, and the Save the Children Fund.

In addition to her charitable work, Princess Alexandra has also represented the Queen at a number of official events. She has undertaken tours of the Commonwealth and has represented the UK at international events abroad.

Marriage and Family

Princess Alexandra married Angus Ogilvy on 24 April 1963, at Westminster Abbey. Angus Ogilvy was the second son of David Ogilvy, 12th Earl of Airlie, and Lady Alexandra Coke.

Princess Alexandra and Angus Ogilvy had two children: James Robert Bruce Ogilvy (born 29 February 1964) and Marina Alexandra Ogilvy (born 30 September 1966). James Ogilvy is married to Julia Rawlinson, and they have three children: Flora Alexandra Ogilvy (born 15 December 1994),Alexander Charles Ogilvy (born 12 March 1996),and Isla Elizabeth Ogilvy (born 30 April 2002).

Marina Ogilvy is married to Paul Mowatt, and they have two children: Zenouska Mowatt (born 27 May 2008) and Christian Mowatt (born 31 May 2011).

Princess Alexandra and Angus Ogilvy divorced in 1989. Angus Ogilvy died in 2004.

Legacy

Princess Alexandra is a highly respected and admired member of the British Royal Family. She has dedicated her life to public service and has made a significant contribution to her country and the world. She is an inspiration to many, and her legacy is sure to live on for generations to come.
