Early Life and Education

Zubeida Jaffer was born in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1992. She moved to the United States with her family when she was young, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jaffer attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied political science and global development.

While at Berkeley, Jaffer became involved in social justice activism. She worked with the campus Muslim Student Association and helped organize protests against Islamophobia and war. She also volunteered with the non-profit organization One Billion Rising, which works to end violence against women and girls.

One Billion Rising

In 2013, Jaffer became a global ambassador for One Billion Rising. The organization was founded by Eve Ensler, the author of the play "The Vagina Monologues." One Billion Rising's mission is to end violence against women and girls by raising awareness, demanding justice, and creating change.

As a global ambassador, Jaffer travels the world speaking about the importance of ending violence against women and girls. She has spoken at events in over 50 countries, and has helped to organize One Billion Rising events in communities around the world.

UN Youth Ambassador

In 2016, Jaffer was appointed as a UN Youth Ambassador. In this role, she represents the voices of young people at the United Nations. She works to advocate for the rights of young people, and to ensure that their voices are heard in decision-making processes.

As a UN Youth Ambassador, Jaffer has spoken at events on a wide range of issues, including education, climate change, and gender equality. She has also worked with the UN to develop policies and programs that address the needs of young people.

Inspiration for Our Generation

Zubeida Jaffer is a shining example of the power of young people to make a difference in the world. She is a passionate advocate for social justice, education, and women's rights. She is a true inspiration for our generation, and her work is a reminder that we can all make a difference, no matter how old we are or where we come from.

Call to Action

Zubeida Jaffer's work is inspiring, but it is also a reminder that we all have a responsibility to work for a more just and equitable world. We can all learn from her example and use our voices to speak out against injustice. We can all work to create a better future for ourselves and for our children.

Here are some ways that you can get involved:

  • Support organizations that are working to end violence against women and girls.
  • Volunteer your time to help out at a local school or non-profit organization.
  • Speak out against injustice and discrimination.
  • Vote for leaders who are committed to social justice and equality.

Together, we can create a better world for everyone.
